It's a shame to say that my hometown is in Miaoli Gongguan Township, but in fact, most of the nearby restaurants don't know and have not eaten. Every time I go back, I will eat the same restaurant or eat at home. I don’t even have a chance to go out to eat. The restaurants here are different from those in the city. Many of them are located far away from the main street, or even in a very remote place. Even so, there is still business. Of course, some local people will know it. It's normal for me to be a fake local person who doesn't know.

This Ben's restaurant is a good example. It seems to have been open for a few years in the local area. I heard that it used to cook Italian cuisine in the early days? The set menu type cafe was later transformed into a Chinese and Taiwanese cuisine restaurant. This change is still quite big, but it is understandable why the transformation is needed, the original direction is limited!

In fact, most of this area is dominated by elderly elders, and foreign tourists are not the main source of tourists. They may come here occasionally to eat exotic cuisine, but it is impossible to come too often, so it is difficult to increase the table turnover rate. It seems a bit wasteful that such a large space cannot be used well.

It still retains the shadow of the past cafe! A lot of thoughts should have been spent on designing and creating this space.

The menu on the wall changes slightly every day. But in fact, you can find that the cuisine here is not limited to a range, almost covering most of the common dishes.

This side dish is quite special. The first time I saw it, it should be kimchi made from mustard greens. This is the first time that the mustard vegetable, which is often eaten by the Hakka people, is processed in this way.

This pork knuckle vermicelli is also very funny. It happened to be grandma's birthday at that time. This dinner can be regarded as helping her to celebrate her birthday. I just asked the boss if there is any pig knuckle vermicelli because it is not on the menu. As a result, the boss said that he could make it, so he came up with a large bowl of pork knuckle noodles. We were dumbfounded when we saw it, and we couldn't finish it at all. Later, we packed it and went home, haha!

*Personal guess is that it is cooked in a pressure cooker, and the taste of braised is not fully incorporated. But thank you very much for the boss change!

The taste of this one-night dry is good, the meat is tender and fragrant, which is more memorable.

In the Hakka village of Gongguan, its range of cuisine is completely different from the complexity. On the contrary, it is more like the dishes in an urban restaurant, fusing Chinese and Taiwanese cuisine, but there is no way to compare it with the same standard. It just gives you another choice besides Hakka cuisine, parking here is still very convenient.
