Xin Ye Taiwanese Restaurant is a Taiwanese restaurant with a bit of history. Generally speaking, I eat at least once a year, or even several times. It also lasted for N years, and I have been to this one in Shin Kong Mitsukoshi A9 alone. Basically, if you go to the Xinyi business district and don’t know what to eat, there is basically no mistake in choosing it. The basic needs must be met, provided it has a place. It's really not easy to eat without calling to make a reservation before. Relatively easy during a pandemic!
The interior decoration and tables and chairs are a bit old, but the finishing is not bad. Most of the service staff are very experienced, and the service attitude is quite good and kind. The space is comfortable and bright, and the seats are not too close together.
We thought the braised pork rice would not be a big bowl, so we ordered two bowls. When I came up, I was dumbfounded. Before, I only ordered braised pork, never braised pork rice. It was so embarrassing, I almost vomited. However, there is still a small disadvantage, the rice was not cooked very well that day. In addition, the marinade of the braised pork is too little. Bibimbap is very important! The marinated meat looks dark in color, but it doesn't have a strong flavor.
I really miss the peanut braised pork trotters that I haven't eaten for a long time. It feels a little bit smaller!
Not to mention the pan-fried pork liver. Basically one of Shin Yeh's signature dishes!
Finally, the dessert according to the number of people, the peanut flour mochi that has never changed!
In fact, to be honest, the experience of going to Xinye this time is unclear. It's not good to say it's bad, it's not good to say it's good. In the past, it felt better to eat. Of course, the basic level of cooking is not too bad, but the seasoning of some dishes seems to be a little bit worse. The dishes that should be eaten are still very good, but the feeling of having another bowl of rice is missing. There is still enough to eat. It stands to reason that I have eaten so many times before, and my expectations for it should be in the same place. (To be honest, the braised pork and pig feet were not so tasty that day, and the pork liver was not as tender as before.) I should still eat it in the future, but I hope to regain my confidence.
