The hottest attraction in Chiayi over the past two years, a holy land for Instagrammers to take photos. However, it only serves this purpose, so don't expect too much. It might help you feel more balanced. After all, you probably will only visit here once in a lifetime, as it lacks the conditions and desire for repeated visits. The Chateau De Jourdeness is essentially a tourist factory disguised as a castle. According to the staff inside, the factories that used to operate elsewhere will all end their operations and move here. The focus is on research, development, and management, with only a small portion of production taking place on-site, while other products are outsourced for manufacturing and production.
Chateau De Jourdeness itself doesn't have a parking lot, so visitors have to park their vehicles on the surrounding streets or at a few nearby parking lots. They can then take a free shuttle bus to the entrance of Zosen Nis Castle. The shuttle buses used are minivans that can accommodate up to 7 people. On weekdays, they can somewhat handle the passenger flow, but on weekends, you never know how long you'll have to wait to get on. Moreover, the waiting time is uncertain, and the posted schedule is merely a reference and has no practical value. It's possible that the shuttle bus picks up guests from one parking lot, making it unable to accommodate guests from the next one. This free shuttle bus service is poorly managed and completely inconsistent with the image of the castle.
The admission ticket is priced at NT$300 per person, with a description of a discount program for future purchases. However, the discount scheme is not very sincere, and the prices of the products inside are not cheap either. There's a high chance that it won't be beneficial to most visitors! The discount program seems overly complicated.
If you're not interested in enjoying European dance performances or seeking shelter from the hot weather outside, I personally do not recommend entering the interior of the building. Unless you have a specific interest in the research and production aspects of Zosen Nis, there isn't much to see inside.

Basically, coming inside is purely for taking photos and has no other meaningful purpose. The factory area inside is not as large as you might imagine. Actually, it doesn't take much time to explore. Taking a photo and walking around won't require more than an hour. That's still an overestimate; in reality, you might run out of things to do in just half an hour. We even specifically went to see the smart factory and research center to extend our visit. Otherwise, it feels like you're wondering what you're really doing after paying NT$300 to enter.
There's no need to make a special trip to Chateau De Jourdeness. If you happen to be in the vicinity of Chiayi and it's on your way, then you can consider visiting. Otherwise, in terms of tourist attractions, there are other places more worthy of a visit. It's worth mentioning that many tour groups come here!
