If you are used to checking the ratings on Google Maps before entering a restaurant, chances are you probably wouldn't step into this particular one. Its rating is surprisingly different from the rest. There are several good oyster omelette stalls in front of Lukang Mazu Temple, making it difficult for people with indecisiveness to choose. In such cases, I would simply give up and opt for other local snacks available. The main reason is that the place is just too crowded.
However, unexpectedly, something happened. My dad's local friend took us to Wu Yi Xing Oyster Omelette. He said this is the place they usually eat at, except they avoid coming on weekends because it gets too crowded to even squeeze in. Moreover, they only prefer this particular stall as the taste doesn't quite suit their liking at the neighboring ones!
The dishes are all prepared at the entrance of the restaurant, mostly fried items. As a result, the environment can be a bit greasy, both on the floor and on the tables. Friends who have higher cleanliness standards may feel a bit uncomfortable. This is something to consider for oneself! Sometimes they get too busy to clean and tidy up properly.
There are still plenty of seats available, and the turnover rate is high with fast service. You won't have to wait for a long time.
Personally, I don't find the shrimp ball soup to be to my taste. I would skip this soup and choose something else.
It's actually been a long time since I last had oyster omelette, and it's been even longer since I saw so many oysters in an oyster omelette. That was my first impression, and there were so many oysters! It was incredibly satisfying to eat. The omelette was perfectly cooked, not too soft or mushy, which I don't particularly enjoy. The sauce is also a crucial element, apart from the well-mixed garlic sauce and soybean paste, right? And when paired with chili sauce, you can definitely have more than one plate of it.
Oyster pancakes are also delicious at "Oyster Dad." They don't have any greasy taste and are not overly oily. The frying technique is excellent. The filling inside is also generously packed with an abundance of chives and oysters. The outer layer is thin, unlike some where the filling is sparse and the outer layer is thick. With every bite, you get a mouthful of filling, which is really satisfying. The price is also reasonable! It's definitely worth a try.
