2012 memories|Pine Manor College campus and infrastructure

The most chronological and historical building on the campus of Pine Manor College! It is also an office for faculty and staff, and it was previously loaned out for out-of-home events. The decoration inside is the style of the last era, a bit like a castle. Walking in is not like going to the office at all. I want to have a cup of coffee in it for afternoon tea.

Pine Manor College is also a school with a history of nearly a hundred years. However, the business situation has been very poor in the past ten years, and some of the land has been sold. Especially when it was a girls' school, it didn't accept any boys at all. Later, I heard that there was an attempt to admit boys in, but the effect seemed to be small.

The area near the campus cannot be underestimated. The neighborhood can be said to be a rich area. I heard that Daisuke Matsuzaka lived in this area when he played in the Boston Red Sox. The neighboring houses are all mansions visible to the naked eye. The living environment here is quiet and safe, and there is no big problem walking on the road in the middle of the night. (Some areas of Boston are still dangerous at night)

I used to take the subway back to school from the city at about 12 o'clock. Otherwise, I would take the first subway to the city and take the bus to New York in the early morning. I didn't feel nervous and uneasy when I walked on the road.

Pine Manor College also has a language school. Listening to the descriptions of some students in the class, they actually teach pretty well, and they prefer serious and serious teaching. It is also a language course oriented for further studies. There will not be too many lively courses or activities. And the Kings Boston I chose was a language school that cooperated with Pine Manor College to rent a space to operate it! It just so happens that both have their own needs. Later, Kings Boston also moved to downtown Boston!

Whether it is in a suburban campus or an urban campus, each has its own advantages and disadvantages, but you can experience the feelings outside the language school on campus. After all, some language schools just go home after class, and those on campus can have more ways of experience, such as communicating with classmates and living longer, can live in the school dormitory and eat in the school cafeteria.

Basketball court

Basketball court

In the school’s indoor basketball court, students will come together to play a few games after class.

GYM

GYM

A simple gym is enough for us to exercise. I come here 1 to 2 times a week!

Dining room

In the school cafeteria, breakfast, lunch and dinner are all buffet styles. Basically, the faculty and staff do not come to dine, and most of them are students from language schools. Local students or faculty and staff bring their own lunch. Don't think that they eat out for a long time. In fact, most of them don't eat out. Our teacher also brings his own sandwiches or toast with jam!

Library

The school’s small library also has self-study seats. I have been there several times to read books.

Guard booth

The guard booth is still very responsible for carefully checking the personnel entering and exiting. It is not possible to enter without supporting documents or student IDs. The more troublesome thing is that there is still some way to go from here to the school gate. Sometimes when you go out without Shuttle, you have to walk some way to get to the supermarket or the subway station. There is no need to worry about the amount of daily exercise here, there is some walking time.

In fact, there are also tennis courts and football fields on campus. Sometimes when class is fine, I will take a vocabulary book and walk around the campus, which is quite comfortable because there are large tracts of woods on the campus. It's like walking in the forest to absorb Fendor, quiet and not disturbed by too many people, and will not be disturbed by nearby vehicles. People who drive seldom honk their horns.

The football field is actually my secret place, especially at night, occasionally I will run to the football field to lie on the grass and watch the stars. Comfortable grass and beautiful starry sky, there is little environmental air pollution and light pollution, the football field is very dark at night, you can see the stars when you look up, and lying down is more comfortable and relaxing.

I don't know how this school is now? I checked it online and it seems to have been annexed by Boston College. I hope it can continue to exist! No matter what form it exists, it is also a place of memory for me.
