The ultimate attraction of Parliament Hill in Ottawa, Canada, is the Peace Tower! Boarding it is the only way to complete the puzzle of Capitol Hill. If you go to Capitol Hill and don't climb the tower, it seems that this trip is missing a part. Not a pity, just a little pity. However, it is also an impossible task to go to the Peace Tower now. Fortunately, when I went to Ottawa in 2012, the Central Block and the Peace Tower were not yet in the schedule for refurbishment. It was the East Block next to it that was doing renovations! It is also because the central building has to wait for the renovation of the adjacent building to be completed.
Both Capitol Hill and the Peace Tower are free to visit. There are also free guided tours in English and French. Remember to apply online first, it will be more reassuring, there are many tourists who go there every day. At the beginning, I went to the Capital Information Kiosk Visitor Service Center opposite the Capitol Hill to collect the time receipt, and with this I could climb the Peace Pagoda.
It is a very happy thing to climb the tower on a day when the weather is good. The view at a glance is excellent. With a view of the surrounding area, the front of Capitol Hill is the downtown area. It happened that the time we went to the tower was close to the whole hour, and I heard the bell in my memory. It's deafeningly loud! It is a very worthwhile trip, and you will not regret it at all. Also, I planned this itinerary and didn't skip it!
