Is CREMIA Worth $150 TWD? My Honest Review of Japan’s “God of Soft Serve” at Taipei Dome.

CREMIA Hokkaido Ice Cream is often called the “god of ice cream,” and if it has such a title, you kind of have to give it a try out of respect. Since going to Hokkaido to have it at the source isn’t an option, having it in Taipei should be close enough, right? After all, someone in our group has actually tried CREMIA in Japan and can vouch for whether it’s the same or not.

I also recommend eating ice cream on a cold day—it somehow makes the experience more satisfying.

Another tip: if you’re going to try it, don’t think too much about the price. If you do, you might not be able to bring yourself to buy it at all. It really requires a moment of impulse. The portion isn’t very large either.

The ice cream is served in a cookie cup, which is different from the traditional American-style waffle cone. Hokkaido is all about milk, so the richness is on another level, but it also melts pretty quickly, meaning you have to eat it fast. Is it good? It’s decent. But once you think about the price, you may feel that trying it once is enough. It’ll probably be a long time before the next attempt… and there’s another reason too: the craving for it just isn’t that strong. It’s more of a “nice to try, but also fine to skip” kind of thing.
