A Dinner of "Vibes" and Vacancy: My One-Time Visit to Juju Lou
It’s purely a personal perspective—no right or wrong, just different experiences. This restaurant is called Juju Lou, a dining venture under the Eslite brand. To be honest, I didn't know much about it initially; I just happened to see it while at Yulong City and thought, "Why not give it a try?" At first glance, the ambiance seemed decent, and since it’s an à la carte menu, I figured there would be plenty of options for everyone to pick what they liked.
First off, the layout is quite... unique, though personally, I wasn’t a fan. They seated us in a side area right by the entrance, where every person coming in or out could see us. The space was cramped and uncomfortable, with a table so small it could barely hold the dishes. To top it off, getting a server's attention was a mission; they were practically invisible from our corner. I guess you could say it was "very private"—certainly no risk of being "disturbed" by service.
With every dish that arrived, I found myself taking a sharp breath. The ratio of the portion size to the plate was completely off—the plates were grand and "generous," but the portions were incredibly stingy. There was this indescribable sense of emptiness, and looking back at the prices on the menu, I could only shake my head. As for the taste? The food wasn't even hot—some dishes were just lukewarm—and the seasoning was nothing to write home about. To put it simply, nothing was impressive enough to justify the price. It felt like I was paying for a whole lot of nothing.
The most "impressive" part? After finishing the meal, I wasn't even full. Let’s just say I had a "healthy" 70% fullness, leaving plenty of room to go eat something else. It’s the kind of place you visit once and never think about again. Maybe it’s a perfect fit for others, but for a "commoner" like me, I clearly didn't get the hype.
