New Taipei Gongliao|Sandiaojiao Lighthouse-the most easterly lighthouse in Taiwan.

 

Taiwan is a land surrounded by the sea. It is only natural that there are lighthouses in the area near the sea, but did you know that the lighthouse on the east (extreme east) is in Gongliao, New Taipei? Isn't it in Hualien or the eastern part of Taitung? At least I didn't know it before I went. I was also very unfamiliar with Sandiaojiao Lighthouse. Basically I never heard its name. I used to go to the nearby Fulong Station or Fulong Beach.

Not all lighthouses can be visited. Of course, this visit can’t go up to the lighthouse, but there is a simple exhibition hall on the first floor. It introduces the history of this lighthouse and the lighthouse equipment used in the past. It is a very rudimentary venue. Without spending too much time on maintenance and care, it's like leaving things there, and after a glance, there is no interest.

From behind the lighthouse, you can see Guishan Island in the distance. This depends on the weather conditions of the day.

Sandiaojiao Lighthouse is located at the Cape Sandiaojiao, Gongliao District, New Taipei City, Taiwan. The address is: No. 38, Magang Street, Fulian Village, Gongliao District, New Taipei City 22841. It is a typical lighthouse with a surrounding balcony outside the top floor, and is the most easterly lighthouse in Taiwan. Sandiaojiao Church, originally the storage warehouse for the lighthouse fuel of the Sandiaojiao Lighthouse, is located next to the lighthouse. Since the lighthouse no longer burns kerosene, beginning in 2010, the northeast corner and the Yilan Coast National Scenic Area Management Office will use church-shaped arches and stained glass to create a European-style church-style building that has been idle for a long time.

This building is said to be a church and really not a church. It is about two floors, but each floor is very small. The second floor is now for tourists to experience virtual photography. Then it can be downloaded to the mobile phone. It is a commemorative visit. However, the quality of the equipment is not very high, and there are not many choices of virtual backgrounds. It still needs improvement.

The scenery of the Far East Observation Deck is not to be missed. In fact, the scenery here is better than that seen from the lighthouse. There is a Magang fishing port by the sea below, and there are some places that seem to be breeding farms. The view of the coastline is very good. The vastness of the city, the mood has changed, the feeling of looking at the sea from a height is completely different from that of the seaside. Many tourists stand here and stay quietly for a while with the sea breeze blowing.

Just take a photo of Sandiaojiao Lighthouse, which proves that you have been to the easternmost lighthouse, but you must not be lazy and walk over to the Far East Observation Deck. Otherwise, it will be the biggest regret. You must pay attention to the parking space when driving here. There are many, but most tourists will not stay here for too long. Basically, there should be parking spaces after a while.
