When thinking of Keelung, I immediately associate it with the lively atmosphere of Keelung Miaokou Night Market. However, there are many hidden gems in terms of local delicacies and souvenirs that I, as an outsider, might not be familiar with.
One notable local souvenir is Quanli Rice cookie, highly recommended by my relatives. They mentioned that it's well-known, and even their friends from other regions ask them to bring back these rice cookies when returning home for holidays. It was only during one such occasion that I discovered the brand Quanli and its rice cookies. Initially, I wondered, what's so special about rice cookies, similar to the traditional popcorn we used to find on street corners? The uniqueness lies in the variety of flavors they offer beyond the original taste. The standout feature, however, is the crispy texture when frozen! It doesn't become soft or sticky like traditional rice cookies stored at room temperature, unaffected by humidity. Definitely a delightful surprise worth trying and sharing as a thoughtful gift during festive seasons!
