The Space Needle in Seattle is undoubtedly one of the most iconic landmarks. Whether you've been to Seattle or not, you've probably heard of it. It's a structure that offers a panoramic view of the downtown area, with no tall buildings nearby to obstruct its view. The Space Needle looks different during the day and at night, each offering a unique atmosphere. I recommend going up in the afternoon (weather permitting, as it depends on luck) to see Seattle during the day, and then waiting for nightfall to enjoy the city lights. This way, you get to experience both perspectives and make the most of your visit, especially considering that tickets to go up aren't cheap.

This is where the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation is located.

I originally wanted to enjoy the nighttime view from the Space Needle, but since I had dinner plans that evening, I missed out on seeing the night view from up there. However, I did get to see Seattle’s nightscape from a local's secret spot, so it wasn’t too much of a regret. Plus, I was pretty lucky—the weather was great during my stay in Seattle, with no rain at all, even though I’d heard before going that it rains a lot there. Honestly, Seattle’s weather isn’t bad at all!

There are many ways to purchase tickets now, including online and on-site. Besides the official website, there are several platforms where you can buy tickets online, some even offering packages that include other activities. You might also want to check if the Seattle CityPASS fits your itinerary. It includes several attractions, though not all of them may interest you, but the bundled price is quite appealing.
