Can Fittydent Effectively Clean Retainers?

Wearing a retainer is truly troublesome. Not only do you have to wear it every day, but you also need to clean it regularly. Otherwise, plaque and other bacteria will multiply, leading to issues like tartar buildup and periodontal diseases. Both retainers and dentures can only be cleaned with these cleansing tablets; there's no other option. This requires both time and financial costs. Even after completing orthodontic treatment, a lot of problems still await you!

Initially, I used Polident oral care cleaning tablets for a few years. However, the pricing is quite inconsistent, whether in physical stores or online. Although you can find a good deal if you spend the time, it's still a hassle. In the past, I thought the cost-performance ratio was decent since this product needs to be used long-term, and finding an affordable price is obviously the best option. But just before I needed to buy more, I couldn’t find a suitable deal. Instead, I came across Fittydent, an Austrian brand, so I decided to give it a try. I don’t have brand loyalty, so I just go with whatever works at the time.

Another reason for the switch is that I felt the quality of Polident was somewhat inconsistent. Sometimes the cleaning effect was great, other times not so much. So, switching to another brand doesn't seem like a loss.

The usage is basically the same, so no instructions are needed. As for the frequency of use, it depends on personal preference. Some doctors recommend cleaning every day, others say every 2-3 days, and some suggest once a week. You’ll need to try it out for yourself, and it also depends on your overall oral hygiene habits.

Since switching to Fittydent for 2-3 months, I haven't encountered any issues. It dissolves pretty quickly, the color is nice, and the cleaning effect seems good so far. Based on my current experience, I think I'll continue using it unless I run into any problems down the road.
