Backstory: Our original destination after getting off at the Taipa CEM Warehouse bus stop wasn’t the Taipa Grande Lookout, but rather the Taipa Houses Museum. However, we noticed an inclined elevator or lift nearby and got curious about what it was. While crossing the pedestrian bridge, we speculated about where it might lead. According to my family, they hadn’t noticed this inclined elevator on their previous visit. It might be because they walked over and didn’t pay attention, or perhaps it was newly built at the time.

After discovering it was an elevator, we didn’t have enough time to check it out due to our tight schedule. Upon returning to Taiwan, I looked it up online and felt a tinge of regret—it turns out the view from the top is incredible. From the Taipa Grande Lookout, you can overlook the scenery of Taipa and Cotai, especially the night view, which is stunning. The dazzling lights from the casinos create a “city that never sleeps” vibe.

Currently, this location seems to be somewhat of a hidden gem, not frequented by many tourists. It’s likely a spot locals visit more often. Reflecting on that day, there really weren’t many tourists in the area. Many visitors to Macau may not prioritize these kinds of attractions, leaning more toward city-center locations or casinos. However, Macau does have its fair share of non-casino-related sights worth exploring!
