All the Intensity of Black Thorn Durian in One Bite! Honest Review of Lai Fa Kee Durian Stick

I don't have a strong aversion to durian; I can eat it or skip it. It's not something I would go out of my way to buy, and since it’s quite warming, it's not the best for my body type. However, my parents really like it, and my brother can also eat it. Thinking about it, I guess my family is not picky at all—everyone dares to try new things. Or rather, everyone at least tries it, and if they don't like it, they eat less of it.

When I visited Macau, I came across Lai Fa Kee's Black Thorn Durian Stick, and my parents were the ones most eager to try it. The younger ones, on the other hand, all went for the regular ice cream flavors. Actually, this product isn’t locally made in Macau; it’s imported from Malaysia. The price isn’t exactly cheap, especially since it’s sold at a small shop in a tourist spot. You might find it cheaper at a supermarket.

The durian flavor is not very strong when it's cold; you need to get close to smell that unmistakable durian scent that instantly brings back memories. The texture is creamy, like eating ice cream, but also like directly eating durian. The flavor is intense and almost feels like the moment it touches your tongue, it decompresses and releases fully, which was surprisingly impressive. Of course, I don't know if others would be shocked by it, but it definitely left a strong impression on me!
