In the past, there was never any excitement when walking to the boarding gate. It was just a waiting period until boarding time, and if there was a restroom nearby, that was a bonus. Back then, I might have cared about finding a smoking lounge, but after quitting smoking, it’s no longer a concern—plus, it saves money. Another important factor was having enough seating. Some popular flights have so many passengers that all the seats near the gate get taken, leaving nowhere to sit. And now, on top of that, people also need charging outlets!
Another key consideration before heading to the gate was whether to eat, because there used to be no options nearby—just retail stores or pharmacies, not even a café. But things have changed significantly. At least now, if you’re hungry, you don’t have to go far for food.
But having food options wasn’t the biggest surprise. The real shock came when I saw Taiwanese snacks—braised pork rice, bubble tea, taro balls, and other familiar dishes! Right next to them was the famous "Egg Tart King," though that wasn’t my main focus, haha. Seeing Taiwanese food right by the boarding gate for flights back to Taiwan felt incredibly comforting. Unfortunately, I had already eaten before noticing it, so I could only admire it with my eyes. But seeing so many people buying it made me happy! I really hope this place stays in business for a long time~~~
