ONIBUS COFFEE Taipei: Savor Tokyo’s Finest Specialty Coffee

After finishing lunch at NOKE Zhongtai Le Living, I wanted a cup of coffee and came to ONIBUS COFFEE, this café originally from Tokyo, Japan. I’m not sure when I’ll get a chance to try it in Tokyo, so it feels more likely to taste it here first. ONIBUS COFFEE isn’t a standalone space but shares part of its seating with the neighboring tea shop, so some seats aren’t designated for ONIBUS COFFEE. If you’re unsure, you can always ask the staff!

It seems customers don’t stay long—they finish their drink and immediately leave or take it to go.

The prices are on the high side, as you’d expect for specialty coffee, and the portions are small. For friends whose coffee standards aren’t very demanding, this might not be the best choice. There’s also minimal service—you have to pick up your own order and clear your table.

When drinking, don’t rush—sip slowly so it doesn’t finish too quickly. The temperature won’t burn your mouth; it’s pleasantly warm. Overall, it’s smooth with a subtle aroma, though the coffee flavor itself is moderate. Is it exceptionally delicious? Maybe it’s not to my taste—it felt as lacking in warmth as the barista.
