Taichung is a city I rarely visit, let alone knowing a hidden gem tucked away in the mountains. Honestly, without a local’s recommendation and guidance, I would’ve never found Sian Tang Ji Farm Restaurant. It’s quite a distance from the city center—the deeper you drive into the mountains, the more you start to doubt yourself: "Did I take a wrong turn? Is there really a restaurant out here?"
Surprisingly, there is! And it’s incredibly popular. The parking lot was packed, and the restaurant itself was buzzing with people. I mean, aren't we in the middle of nowhere? The environment is truly lovely, featuring small bridges, flowing water, cute animals, and great views. It’s a very cozy spot, perfect for family gatherings.
Ordering a set menu for a large group is quite a deal, both in terms of portion size and variety; it saves you the hassle of deciding what to pick. The only downside is that there are fewer vegetable dishes, but the flavors of everything else are solid. As far as traditional banquet-style dining goes, it’s definitely worth a visit.
